Hours available: Mon. – Wed. 7:45 – 8:15 am Website: stmarysmath.weebly.com
3rd or 8th period (by appointment) Email: [email protected]
3:40 – 4:30 pm
Materials Needed: pens loose-leaf paper 3-ring binder
Course Content: This course is divided into 4 units with approximately one unit taught per quarter

Unit 2: Invertebrate Zoology - Animal Phyla including; sponges, cnidarians, worms, mollusks, arthropods, and echinoderms.
Unit 3: Vertebrate Zoology - Part 1 - Animal Phylum Chordata including; fish, amphibians, and reptiles.
Unit 4: Vertebrate Zoology – Part 2 - Animal Phylum Chordata including; birds and mammals.
Course Grading:
Grades will be based on your performance on daily work, laboratories, quizzes, projects and exams. Since daily work and laboratories will be done mostly together in class, together they will make up 25% of the quarter grade. The quizzes and projects are more of an individual grade that measures what each student knows, so they will count as 35% of the quarter grade and tests will count for 40% of the quarter grade since they are more generalize and trimmed down to just the most important information that each student must know.
Semester Grades:
Semester grades will be determined as follows:
1st Quarter Grade: 40% 3rd Quarter Grade: 40%
2nd Quarter Grade: 40% 4th Quarter Grade: 40%
1st Semester Final: 20% 2nd Semester Final: 20%
1st Semester Grade 2nd Semester Grade
Classroom Expectations:
In order to make it the best environment for learning we need to maintain three important principles every day; Readiness, Responsibility and Respect.
First we must be Ready for class. Students will be in attendance daily. Regular attendance is vital to the success of all students. Students will also be in their seat before the bell rings and have all of their supplies with them.
Second we must be Responsible for ourselves. That would mean that any assignment given should be completed on time with the following criteria included. Every problem must be completed fully. The assignment must be neat and legible. The assignment will have the name, date, and page labeled on it. The assignment will be date stamped in class on the day it is due and handed-in. If a student has missed some class for illness or other reasons they will be required to hand-in the late work when they return to class. Students will be given 2 days to make-up any assignments that they missed due to an unexpected absence. A student may make an appointment with me to go over the concepts outside of class time. Any late work will be reduced by 10% each day it is tardy.
Finally, we must have Respect for everyone. Life Science has many difficult concepts that will be new to the students. Each student needs the best environment to be able to concentrate and apply themselves. Any behavior that disrupts that learning will not be tolerated.
